Essendon's VFLW side travelled to Sydney to take on the GIANTS last weekend, falling by 47 points.

Alex Morcom and Matilda Dyke both got through another week in the VFLW side, while Danielle Marshall also made a successful return in her first game of the year.

The Giants started off strong, kicking three goals in the first ten minutes of the game to establish an early buffer.

GWS' down-field pressure and hefty AFLW experience on the park played a key factor, with the Bombers unable to lock the ball in their forward 50 for the majority of the contest.

The Giants continued to provide scoreboard impact, with Scarlett Orritt the first to break the Bombers' scoring drought late in the third term.

Despite the scoreboard, the Bombers maintained high effort and stayed competitive in the contest.

El Chaston and Alex Morcom were both stand-outs, taking several crucial marks and goal-saving tackles in big moments.
